Access to the collections of other libraries in Suffolk County

To broaden your access to materials Half Hollow Hills is a member of the New York State funded Suffolk County Library System.

Direct Access: If you are a borrower in good standing you may go directly to any Suffolk Library. Most libraries limit Direct Access to books but, depending on each library's policy, other materials may also be taken out. Participating libraries in Huntington Township allow reciprocal borrowing of non-current magazines.

Interlibrary Loan: Librarians in either building can request that books owned by other libraries in Suffolk County and elsewhere be sent here for you. Some libraries will also loan non-book material. Note that the loan periods and other rules governing the borrowing of materials are those or the lending library and may vary from Half Hollow Hills Community library rules.
