Unnatural Exposure (Kay Scarpetta) by Patricia Cornwell

"A mutant pox virus is killing people and Virginia’s chief medical examiner, Dr. Kay Scarpetta, is trying to identify the virus and the bioterrorist developing the virus, disseminating it, and dismembering two of its victims. The killer, using the handle, Deadoc, emails Kay with unnerving photos. Kay may be a victim of the virus; her lab assistant is. Kay’s lover, Benton Wesley, an FBI profiler, and her FBI agent niece, Lucy, are also working the case, along with police Captain Pete Morino. As with all Kay Scarpetta mysteries, it is engrossing and chilling. A superb read." - E. Pasquali

4/4 stars.
